SorTex 2026 – The Road to Circular Textiles is an international conference that focuses on how textile waste can become a valuable resource through better practices for collection, sorting, and circular solutions. The conference will take place on March 10, 2026, at Chalmers Lindholmen in Gothenburg and will bring together players from across the Nordic region who work strategically with textile management, circular economy, and sustainable business models.

The SorTex project is working to develop and test solutions for the textile industry's biggest challenge: converting textile waste into resources rather than sending it to incineration or landfill. The project analyzes and tests methods for collecting and pre-sorting textiles, while also developing new circular business models. The goal is to give textiles a new lease on life, increase reuse and recycling, and create a sustainable value base for both public and private actors.

On the day of the conference, you will encounter professional presentations, dialogue sessions, and concrete examples of how high-quality collection and sorting can be organized, and what opportunities arise when textiles are treated as a resource in circular systems. There will also be ample opportunity for networking, knowledge sharing, and cross-national perspectives between municipalities, companies, researchers, and other actors in the value chain.

The conference is aimed at those who work with textile sorting, waste management, circular economy, system planning, or business model development, and who want both insight and tools to promote circular textile solutions in practice.
