Workshop in Herning: Recycling of textiles

Join us for an exciting workshop where we will brainstorm, research and discuss how to make the most of our textile waste.

Join us for an exciting workshop where we will brainstorm, research and discuss how to make the most of our textile waste.

Join us for an exciting workshopon Tuesday on August 26, 2025 at 11:00 - 16:00. Together we will brainstorm, explore and discuss how we can make the most of our textile waste.

Reusing and recycling is an essential task. We need to get better at using our clothes, rags, (carpets) and other textiles in new ways - rather than having them end up in the trash or in a landfill in a faraway land.

That's why we need your knowledge, creativity and experience.

In the workshop, we will focus on five of the fractions that can be difficult to recycle:

  • Cotton-rich textiles
  • Polyester
  • Mixed materials
  • Workwear with multiple layers
  • Other textiles with multiple layers

There are several reasons why it can be difficult to recycle materials, but we believe that by working together we can bring a lot of ideas to the table. Brainstorming works best when there are more people involved.

New opportunities and new business
Solving our textile waste challenges takes time. It takes much more than a workshop. But use this unique opportunity to meet others who care about the same agenda as you - and gain new perspectives.

So start thinking about it now:

  • How can we turn textile waste into a valuable resource?
  • How should we sort our textile waste?
  • And what will we use it for in the future?

We hope and believe that new collaborations and opportunities will arise at the workshop - maybe even new business.

The workshop is part of the Sortex project, which was set up to find solutions to our textile waste. The project has a large circle of partners in both Denmark and Sweden. Sortex is supported by the European Regional Development Fund and the EU program Interreg.
